What is MotoGP?

MotoGP is the top tier of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix. Unlike production-based series, MotoGP bikes are bespoke prototypes built by manufacturers such as Ducati, Aprilia, KTM, Honda, and Yamaha — machines you cannot buy in a showroom.

Each Grand Prix weekend now includes a Saturday Sprint race as well as the full-length Sunday Grand Prix, doubling the points-scoring action and the talking points for our reviews.

The supporting classes

A Grand Prix weekend is three championships in one. Moto3 is the entry class for the sport's youngest talent, famous for huge slipstreaming battles. Moto2 is the intermediate step, where riders prove they are ready for the premier class. MotoGP is the main event.

We follow the stories across all three classes, because today's Moto3 scrapper is tomorrow's MotoGP title contender.

How MotoPod covers it

Jim and Rich break down every round: the race itself, the championship picture, the technical and political stories, and the controversies. Expect strong opinions, sharp analysis, and the occasional wooden spoon.
